How to Detox Your Body at Home

The food you eat is sometimes processed or contaminated with chemical fertilizer and pesticide since the environment is full of pollutants. Toxins cause your body to have a weakened immune system, hormonal imbalance, and even mental disturbances. Therefore, it is important to detox the body to rid itself of toxins that could harm the internal organs. Ideally you need to do body cleansing at least once every six months.

Body detox especially in spa and clinics can be expensive so it is more practical to do it at the comfort of your home. It is not really hard to do a home body detox; you just need to be committed to the process and find a regimen that will work for you.

One home body detox method is a change in diet; actually it is the focal point of detoxification. The goal of the detox diet is to cleanse your colon to prevent constipation and relax your digestive organs. Many detox programs are available that you can follow depending on your goal. There is the lemonade diet, which combines maple syrup and lemonade. This is hard to follow since you will only have lemonade and maple as your diet, which is almost like, juice fasting. You could check out self-help books on detoxification or better yet consult first your doctor so he could probably recommend you a diet most suitable for your body. There are also recipes available that are specifically for detoxification.

Another thing that would be a requirement for homebody detox is exercise. To detoxify you need to sweat it out. Just do not push it too hard especially if you are in a rigid detox diet. Walking will do you good.

Now if your goal is to have better skin and rid yourself of acne, there is a skin detox that is also available that you can try. One popular facial mask is a combination of oatmeal and honey applied on the face as a moisturizer and cleanser.

It is also important that while you are detoxifying you need to abstain from alcohol, cigarettes and caffeine. You must also get ample sleep to relieve your body from stress.
