As the seasons begin to turn and we head into fall and winter, now is the time to begin to detox your body. By using a combination of cleansing herbs, foods, and supplements, you can detox your body and begin to feel more energized and ready for the winter season. Here are a few suggestions to help you detox your body in preparation for those longer winter months.

Detox Your Body Making Dietary Changes
Deciding to detox your body is a personal choice that involves a little bit of strategy to pull off. You can either opt to detox for a day or a week, however you need to be comfortable the choices you make. By making choices in a combination of dietary and supplements, you can slowly gain a healthier body. Make sure that you don't overdo the detox and put too much stress on your body. Concentrate on smaller increments and work your way up.

Begin by avoiding certain foods and giving your body a break. Many of us tend to eat the same things everyday and that could lead to food allergies. Start your detox period by eliminating wheat, sugar, corn, eggs, soy, peanuts, and cow diary products.

Detox Your Body With Enzymes
Digestive balance and regularity are always important; however, maybe even more so when putting your body through a detox. Enzymes are needed to promote proper digestion, increase nutrient absorption, and mitigate any bloating and gas. As we get older, our body is slower in producing enzymes. A poor diet, stress, and free radicals can compromise proper enzyme production. Most experts will agree that keeping your digestive system in order will keep you healthy.

Detox Your Body With Herbs
An important component to the detox of your body is the use of herbs. Certain herbal teas have been found to eliminate mucus in the lungs and lubricate the gastrointestinal tract, two health issues many suffer with in the winter months. When using herbs to promote your body detox remember that many interact poorly with each other and with medications you maybe taking. It is important that you consult an herb expert before using. If you are pregnant or lactating, never begin a body detox.
