How Did Brittany Murphy's Husband Die
Simon Monjack Found Dead
One of the questions circulating the internet is how did Brittany Murphy's husband die? One might assume that he took his own life in order to deal with his loss but according to police spokesman Sgt. Louie Lozano, the preliminary cause of Simon Monjack's death is natural causes. Sgt. Alex Ortiz (also a police spokesman) told the Associated Press "We concluded there no signs of foul play or any criminal activity involved."
An emergency call was placed on Sunday at around 9:40 PM by Sharon Murphy (who also found her daughter unconscious right before Brittney died). Firefighters responded and found Simon Monjack dead at his Hollywood Hills home he had shared with Brittany and Brittany's mother, Sharon Murphy. It is also the same location where Brittney Murphy was found unresponsive and taken to the hospital.
One can only image how Sharon Murphy must feel, having found the unconscious body of her daughter who later died at the hospital and of her son in law, Simon Monjack, who she had bonded with during the grief of losing her daughter. If I were Sharon, I would put the house on the market and move somewhere far away from all the pain.
In January 2010, Linda Monjack (Simon's mother) told People Magazine that Simon was "unwell, and the doctors are carrying out tests. On whether he has a heart problem it is not really for me to say, you must ask him, but yes, there have been health problems in the past. I believe its common knowledge, and it's been in the press that he had a slight heart attack a week from Brittany's death coming back from Puerto Rico." Many are wondering if his previous heart related problems are what led to his death while others are posting on message boards that Simon may have died of a broken heart.
The cause of death is very likely to change once an autopsy is done so speculation will continue about what led to his death until the results are posted.
Simon was a screenwriter. Brittany and Simon had been married less then three years and did not have any children together. Brittney Murphy died December 20th from a combination of the following: pneumonia, iron deficiency and multiple drugs (all were legal drugs). Simon had said that he and Brittany were going to start a family in the upcoming year and move to New York. This is indeed a sad ending to a tragic tale. May Simon and Brittany rest in peace.
