How Did Humans Get to Earth?

Was it Creationism or Evolutionism?

Janice Meyer
Is it a religion vs. science debate? Is it a creation vs. evolution controversy? Will it continue further into time? It is often called the Great Debate - creation vs. evolution. How did we all get here on this planet? Did God create humans, or did we evolve from primates?

Evolution vs. Creation is surely the Great Debate in these times of scientific advances. In any scientific debate, theories are tested in line with the evidence. It is generally believed that the proven evidence must rest upon the Evolutionists. This is because Creation has been the normal thinking throughout virtually all cultures and religions up to the last 200 years. Evolutionists' say "we cannot see the Creator, we cannot hear the Creator, and we cannot touch, taste or smell the Creator. Thus, we cannot test the Creator with any kind of scientific facilities that have been developed to the present.

Creationists argue, "we cannot see, hear, touch, taste or smell the human mind. Further, they retort they cannot test the human mind with any scientific facilities available today.

Evolutionists have a theory that the universe, with all of its space, time, matter and energy, exploded from nothing (the Big Bang). This theory is opposite to the First Law of Thermodynamics - where did space, time, matter and energy come from in the first place?

I believe each individual should believe as he is led. There is one huge question that I have: If we evolved from primates, then why are there still apes, monkeys and other primates living on this planet? Wouldn't all of them be evolved into humans?

Also, I know that religion has a lot to do with whether one is a believer of Creation or Evolution. My religion is Christianity, and I hold strongly to God's Word, which is the Bible. Creation is explained quite well in the book of Genesis, the first book of the Bible (Old Testament). I studied at the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago, and also at Saint Mary of-the-Woods, near Terre Haute, Indiana. No, that does not make me an expert on such issues, but it has given me a more clear picture of what Christianity is and what it means for me. Also, I definitely do not believe in the Big Bang theory..

Since this Great Debate has been going on for centuries, why not set a standard and say, "Believe what you want to believe about Creationism vs. Evolutionism." No one is going to change their mind unless they become a Christian. My thought on this is, it will not harm anyone if Evolutionists have their own thoughts about how we all got to earth, as well as the Christian belief of Creationism. After all of this time, it is not worth declaring a war over this Great Debate. And, interesting as it may seem, there will never be a winner in this Debate.

There may be many Christians who do not believe in Creation, and I might rather say 'professed Christians.' A true Christian should believe in Creationism. I find a special kind of joy in working for my church. I try to use the gifts I have been blessed with, as somehow I feel He is pleased with my work.

think of it this way, dinosaurs were her around 65 millions years ago. That is much much longer ago than when god made Adam and eve. I do beleive in the bible but these are just some unexplained answers. Also, We could have evolved from life cycles on earth

Hi, Janice. I like the way you lead into the argument as though you have no position on which you stand. This may serve to draw some into a deeper reading of the scriptures. As to the theories themselves, for one who believes that the Bible is the literal Word of God, and it is, there is no theory, but rather just a plain statement from the Maker Himself. I never reject any part of scripture as untrue. Once such a thought pattern of disbelief and Bible reject begin, where can it end but in finally rejecting Jesus also. What? Are there some here who do not believe that a man lived three days within the belly of a fish, or that a man spoke and that the Sun stood still in its tracks until a battle was completed? Uh O, sorry Janice; sometimes I get carried away. Your article has awakened within me many sermons. Smiles. Great writing, and a blessing to read.

I really enjoyed this article. I think there may be a lot of people who believe like I do, that there was evolution but that the evolution itself was created by God and used by Him as one of His tools for getting us to where we are today. I think it was all much more complicated than we can ever understand. At any rate, it is really interesting to think about. Thanks so much for reading my articles, Janice. Have a nice day.

You made super points here, wow what an article, great work!

You've made excellent points that cannot be argued. Why haven't the apes as we know them evolved into human beings or something similar? I LOVE that point. I fully trust in God, and I believe we were created by God as the Bible explains. We don't have to fully understand it. Excellent article!

I agree with you, Janice, that people have their own believes and will not change them no matter what is ever proven. Interesting article...I, too, love your line about the primates! :)

Janice, I thank God for you, you know that. This line, "If we evolved from primates, then why are there still apes, monkeys and other primates living on this planet?" is perfect logic. Yes indeed. I too disbelieve in the Big Bang theory. The Big Bang Theory attempts to answer the origin of the universe but can never be proved conclusively. It does not address, indeed it can not answer, the question of the origin of matter: And by extension, the origin of life. Great, great article Janice & this is why you are one of my favorites. Well done friend.
