How Did Steve McNair Die? Who Killed Steve McNair?

Steve McNair Found Dead in His Nashville Home.

Shannon Wilson
Former Titans Quarterback Found Dead

Steve McNair was found dead in his Nashville home. He was only 36.

Reuters reports that Steve McNair was found dead. His cause of death was a shot to the head. A female was found with him also shot to death. The Associated Press has reported that police were called to a condo where Steve McNair's was located in Nashville (the condo is said to be owned by the female with him). Upon entering, they found the bodies. Police have stated that they have a tentative ID for the woman but won't release her name until her family has been notified.

Update July 5th 2009:

CTV.ca reports that the woman found dead with him was a "friend," Sahel Kazemi who was a waitress. She was 20. Steve McNair's friend, Wayne Neeley, found the two. McNair rented the condo from Neeley. Steve McNair had a gunshot wound to the head, and was shot other multiple times. Sahel was shot once, to the head. It is not clear what relationship the two had with each other. An anonymous source at the restaurant that Sahel worked, said that they thought the two had a relationship for six to eight months.

The police do not think that MeChelle McNair is involved.

Media Takeout is reporting a theory that Sahel Kazemi was tired of being strung around by McNair and killed the Quarterback and then herself. A gun was found near her body. If this is the case, hopefully this story will make people think twice about cheating on their spouse, in fear of the outcome and that it's not right.

Information from 6/4/09:

There are no suspects at this time but rumors floating around the internet are that it was a murder/suicide and that the dead female was his wife. The rumor is that his wife shot him and then killed herself. There is nothing to back this up at this time so please come back to this article for further news which will be posted as soon as news is released. Another rumor is that it was McNair's girlfriend and they were found in her condo.

The owner of the Tennessee Titans, Bud Adams Jr., gave the following statement on the Titan's website. "We are saddened and shocked to hear the news of Steve McNair's passing today. He was one of the finest players to play for our organization and one of the most beloved players by our fans. He played with unquestioned heart and leadership and led us to places that we had never reached, including our only Super Bowl. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family as they deal with his untimely passing."

Wikipedia reports that Steve was married to Mechelle (rumored to be the woman found shot with him) and he leaves behind his four children; Junior, Steven, Tyler, and Trenton.

Mechelle and Steve were college sweethearts at Alcorn State according to an old article by Ebony Magazine. In the beginning, Mechelle didn't like Steve. They seemed to have too many differences for Mechelle to be interested. He was a quarterback; she was in a nursing program. It wasn't until their junior year that she gave him a chance. From that moment on, they were like glue and ended up getting married in 1997.

Steve McNair was a good father and a giving man to the community. According to Ebony magazine, he set up a foundation that helps Alcorn State University and kids from the area. Some of the help includes sending kids to free football camp that otherwise couldn't afford it.

The Associated Press says that Steve McNair played 13 seasons of football before retiring after the 2007 season. He will be missed by his family, friends and fans.

I am watching the television show Dateline. Steve McNair had a beautiful wife. It is too bad that he died the way he did. I hope his family takes comfort and keep their heads up and know that his restless soul is now at rest.

It changes only through an acceptance of having a godly precept of how you want to live, respect and treat others

As much as we love and honor Steve's memory, his demise points to the consequences of unrighteous and unvirtuous life styles. We must be ever mindful of the Lord's doctrines. He has already set forth how he wants us to prioritze and govern our lives. God forgive us all for our fall from grace, but by His grace and mercy we are saved..Amen

Steve McNair should most definitely be placed in the Hall of Fame for NFL Players. I can think of many others that are in it that were less talented then Steve was. This is a tremendous loss for the sports world as well as a super great human being .An investigation should go on until the cause and or reason of his death is 100% sure of. May Steve McNair RIP. He will be missed.
God Bless His Family & Loved Ones
