The functions and buttons on a camcorder are a little bit more complex. Generally, today's camcorders have a small window box that pops out of the side of a video camcorder. You can chose to record an event by looking through this video box. When you are done recording and taping the event, you can look through the small eye whole on the camcorder. This lens on the camcorder allows you to view the video that you have just taken. Most camcorders these days come with a cap lens for the lens on the camcorder. This removable button protects the camcorder's lens from getting dirty or scratched to ensure the best possible quality of your video.
When you are video taping an event, make sure that you have a blank tape or memory chip inserted into the camcorder. Most tapes or small discs come with either two or three hour's worth of film for you to take. When the battery of the power for the camcorder is low, you will see a flashing sign in the video box stating that you need to plug the camcorder in.
Most camcorders generally come with a power cord and a power adaptor. The power cord plugs in from the wall outlet into the power adapter. Then the power adaptor plugs into the camcorder. For other camcorders, the plug that goes into the wall outlet may just plug into the camcorder without any adapter. When you buy the camcorder you may want to think about buying a case to hold the camcorder and the attached plugs. Many of the latest video camcorders also contain the date and time that the video was taken which is very important when you want to organize your collection of home made videos for the entire family.
