People that have high powered machines with lots of ram might not see any change in performance and speed so it's probably just best to keep indexing services enabled. The program is completely unneeded and disabling it won't hurt your computer, but will actually make it faster. If you a type of person who never uses the search function on your computer than removing this service is the way to go. Since this service is hogging ram and your not even using it's best to disable it for better overall computer performance. This program makes your searches somewhat faster, but if you don't use the search function to find files on your computer here's how to disable it. By following these easy steps your computer will use less ram resulting in faster speeds and efficient performance for your computer.
1.)Click on start and go to control panel
2.)Double click on add or remove programs icon
3.)Now click on the add or remove window components tab
4.)Uncheck the box called indexing services then click next
After you click next a screen will pop up and after it's done removing the indexing services it's done. You may not notice much of a difference at first but with all of these other methods combined with this one your computer will be more stable, use less ram, and will process much faster then before.
