Many airlines offer a discount to students on their airfares, which many students take advantage of to fly back to visit family or for spring break vacations. Once the student is placed on the waiting list, even after paying for the ticket they must wait at the airport in hopes of there still being an opening by the time the flight takes off.

The discount is excellent for students who are on budget and are not in rush to get to there destination.
