Before arranging flowers together, ensure your vase is clean. Wash it thoroughly and fill it with room temperature.
Remove leaves that sit under the waterline in the vase as they usually rot in the water and help promoting algae and bacteria, thus shortening the life of the flowers to half at least.
You can lengthen the life of flowers by place them in refrigerator overnight. As long as you don't have fruits because there is a gas that emit from rotting fruit which will cause the flowers to go down more rapidly. Vegetables will not have an effect on the flowers.
Add sugar for cut flowers for nourishment and aspirin or lemon juice.
The acid in the aspirin or lemon will help them to absorb water.
For every quart of water, add few drops of chlorine bleach to reduce bacteria.
Check the level of the water often to be sure that, the stem ends are covered.
Change the water every four days once they look cloudy. If yes, pour the water, cut the stems and refill the vase with room temperature water.
Enjoy it and make an impact!
