You don't have to have those bulky and heavy metal chains when these simple, cheap and easy homemade chains will do just fine and are much safer.

1. Make Ghost Paper Chain Halloween Props out of Black Construction Paper

The least expensive Halloween decoration in the world is probably the DIY homemade chain. Since chains are often associated without graveyards or dead zombies, making a chain as a Halloween prop is a great way to make your place even more scary than it already is. You can make ghost chains out of black paper or construction paper. Simply cut out six-inch-long strips that are about two inches wide. Then put them in a circle and tape, glue or staple the ends together. Start the next chain link by wrapping it through the first link and then connect it together. Continue doing this until you get to the length of the chain you like. After that, just find a way to hang it around your place or outside.

2. Make a Paper Chain Pumpkin Man Halloween Decoration

Another use of Halloween paper chains is to make a little pumpkin man out of the chain. The Web site of makeandtakes.com has great instructions on how to create this fun Halloween do-it-yourself project. All you need are some art paper, scissors, tape and glue.
