With all the buzz about The Secret, The Law of Attraction, Try It On Everything, and other personally empowering techniques and productions, you may have heard about something called EFT. EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique, is a technique that involves tapping on certain parts of the body to help alter energy flow in the body and ultimately treat an enormous array of personal, emotional, and health problems. Given that EFT is free, easy to do, and often very effective, it's no surprise that thousands of people want to learn more about how it works.

EFT works in a way similar to acupuncture. It is based on the idea that a system of energy flows through the human body. A balanced energy system will run smoothly, but certain disruptions, caused by unresolved emotional burdens, may push the system out of balance. EFT believes that disruptions are the cause of all negative emotions that humans experience, including, addictions, fears, phobias, insomnia, depression, anger, guilt, and many others. The anxiety experienced as a result negative emotions like these often causes physical ailments, such as headaches, tension, pain, that can also be eliminated by using EFT properly.

EFT works to eliminate the areas of the system that are blocked or disrupted by tapping a series of acupuncture pressure points. However, EFT is about more than just tapping. While tapping in pattern, the problem one hopes to lessen or eliminate must be kept in mind. The issue at hand is brought to focus by repeating a statement that both acknowledges the negative emotion or problem and accepts it. For example, one experiencing financial burdens may use the statement, "Even though I am worried about my finances, I deeply and completely accept myself." Both tapping the acupuncture points and focusing on the negative emotion has a cleansing effect on disruptions present in the energy system. It also restores balance to the system with generally long-lasting effects.

The sequence of points is simple and easily remembered, and the process can be learned quickly making repetition much easier to master. Once one is comfortable with the method, EFT can be used quickly and frequently on many different ailments in almost any situation or environment. Though it does require a small step outside of the regular realm of physics, the results of EFT are clear. The process has an undeniable track record of healing its followers of negative emotions and the physical ailments caused by them. Even further, it supplies its users with a new confidence, a clearer thought process, and a strong feeling of empowerment.

While many emotional issues can be eliminated in just a few sessions, more time and more advanced techniques may be required for more complicated or emotionally deeper cases.
