Start your search online. If you put Blackberry Ring Tones into a search engine, you will get a lot of hits. Some sites will have dead links. Some sites will have free downloads. Other sites will have a charge. There are even sites that require you to download an application to access the ringtones. You may find one or two sites you really like or that have the best selection of music. If you have to create a user account, make sure you read the fine print. Make sure they have a privacy policy. If it is a site for pay, what is the rate and how will it charge you? Make sure that the site has the songs you want AND it will not rip you off. Also, make sure the site is following the DCMA guidelines to ensure your downloads are legal.
If the site has you e-mail the links, Have the site e-mail the links to you. Most sites that use this format require you have have an account and to be logged in. When you click on the ringtone, one of the options will be to e-mail it to your phone. When you pick that option, it will take you throu at least one prompt to get the ring tone sent. Open the e-mails on your Blackberry and download them to your phone.
If the site requires you to download an application, Download the application to your phone. Then follow the prompts. If it is a good application it should be rather easy to download. It should go directly to you memory card or your phone depending on how you have it set up.
If the site just simply lets you download, first try accessing the site using your Browser on your Blackberry. If the site is not Berry Friendly, use your browser on your computer. Download the songs to your computer. Plug your Blackberry into your computer and use you Blackberry Desktop Manager to transfer over the ringtones. This should be very easy if you have a memory card installed. It should just read your phone as an external drive. If you do not have the Desktop manager, or for whatever reason your computer will not read your phone, there is another option. Save the songs to your computer. Email them as attachments to your Blackberry and then access the attachments from your phone. Scroll to the attachment and click the trackball select open attachment. It will open your media player. Press the menu button and select save. Do this on each listed ringtone.
