How to Download and Put Flash File into Your Digital Devices

Most of the website use flash (*.flv) files to show music and movie online. However, how can you download the file into your computer to watch it offline or to put it into your MP3 player?

In order to download flash file, many of us may be very familiar with "Internet Download Manager". With an automatic tool, "Internet Download Manager" allows user to download all of file types. The advantage of this program is you can download anything even when the website does not support download function. First, you have to open the main window of "Internet Download Manager". Then, go to "File Types" tab. Below the line "Automatically start downloading the following file types", type in "FLV" (extension of flash file). Click "OK". Finally, go to the website and open the flash movie or music you want to download. "Internet Download Manager" will automatically ask for your permission to download the file.

After downloading the file, how would you play it on your computer? Well, you can play the FLV file directly (refer the article "How to Play Flash Files on Your Computer") or you can convert it to a common file type to play or to put into your MP3 Player. "Total Video Converter" would be a great tool to convert the file to any devices, MP3 player, cell phone, PSP... The new version of "Total Video Converter" also allows you to download video flash. Simply activate the program, go to "New Task" and mark "Auto Download FLV". A new window that displays all flash files to download will appear. You only have to choose your favorite file and click "Play" button to start downloading process. You should also notice that you could not close the window during the process. Finally, you can convert the file to DVD, SVCD or VCD to burn out or you can convert file into Mpeg4, Asf or Wmv to put into your MP4 Player, iPod, PSP or your cell phone.

One more thing I want to mention about "Internet Download Manager". You should be aware that "Internet Download Manager" also downloads flash files from advertisement automatically. Therefore, you have to be careful to download the "right" file. If you already know some sites that contain only ads, you can go to "File Types" tab and type the URL of the site below the line "Don't start downloading automatically from the following sites". I hope you would be successfully download FLV file and put it into your digital player without any problems.
