Do you dream at night? Do you want to dream more often at night? This article will tell you how to dream more often anytime you want to in a safe and natural way.

Vitamin B6 is the Dream Vitamin

A number of years ago I suffered from asthma and read that Vitamin B6 can help relieve asthma. So I bought a bottle of Vitamin B6 at a local health food store and before I went to bed took a handful of the supplements.

As I tried to sleep that night I kept having dreams of all kinds. Every 10 minutes I would keep waking up from dreaming so much. Many of the dreams were lucid and vivid and the whole experience was quite a shock. Many of the dreams were so real I kept jumping right out of bed.

The next morning I did a little research and sure enough found that Vitamin B6 is associated with dreaming. Vitamin B6 plays a key role in helping the body to convert tryptophan to serotonin in the brain which is necessary for dreams and dream recall.

What is Vitamin B6?

Vitamin B6 is part of the B-complex vitamins and is scientifically called pyridoxine. It is water soluble meaning the body does not store B6 but excretes it in urine. That means we need to take B6 daily in our diets.

Vitamin B6 Functions

Vitamin B6 is one of the most important nutrients there is. It is involved with more bodily functions than almost any other nutrient and has effects on the physical and mental health of everyone. Vitamin B6

- plays an important role in the absorption of fats and protein

- helps maintenance proper potassium and sodium levels

- promotes red blood cell formation

- needed for normal brain function and the synthesis of RNA and DNA

- is required for the activation of many enzymes in the body

- plays a very important role in proper immune system function and in antibody production

- helps prevent plaque buildup around the heart which prevents heart disease

- plays an important role in cancer immunity

- is beneficial in treating PMS for women

- is helpful in the treatment of asthma, allergies and arthritis

For computer users deficiency of B6 is related to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and supplements of B6 have been shown to be helpful in treating this condition.

How to Get Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6 supplements are available over the counter at any store that sells vitamins and minerals.

Vitamin B6 is also plentiful in many foods but some foods have much higher levels than others. The foods with the highest amounts of B6 are brewer's yeast, carrots, chicken, eggs, fish, meats, peas, spinach, sunflower seeds and wheat germ.

If one does not want to take B6 supplements one can try eating higher levels of these foods to enhance the ability to dream and to dream more often.

Vitamin B6 Will Make You Dream More

As I can attest from personal experience taking Vitamin B6 will cause you to dream more and have more vivid and lucid dreams and better dream recall.

If you want to try this though be careful. The United States Food and Drug Administration recommends that supplements of B6 should be less than 100 mg daily. Taking over 200 mg daily can cause sensory nerve damage. Before taking supplemental doses of B6 in order to dream more often consult your physician.
