Make the most of your figure or even alter it slightly by following the tips below.
Legs.
Because of your long thin legs, you're lucky enough to be able to get away with most hemlines, so you can wear a mini with pride unlike many women!
You can pretty much wear any skirt you like, long short, medium, puffball, anything goes!
Trousers and jeans are slightly trickier as some styles will leave you in danger of looking too thin.
Stick with skinny jeans (NOT tapered trousers!) and bootlegs, these will emphasise your long thin legs without making your legs look like matchsticks.
If you are wearing skinny jeans, wear them tucked into chunky boots, wearing them with ballet pumps or heels will emphasise a lack of shape and you'll end up looking scrawny.
Again, stick with bootleg trousers and avoid flares as flares will swamp your small frame.
You are also lucky enough to be able to wear ¾ length trousers, so you have a great deal of choice!
Waist.
Many people with an athletic figure complain that they want more waist definition to give them a more feminine silhouette .
If this is the case, there are a few simple tricks that can help.
- Wear a wide belt round your waist to give definition (make sure it is wide as skinny belts will only make the problem worse)
- Try to avoid wearing tops and trousers that are the same colour, this will make you look straight up and down.
- Wear darker colour near your waist and lighter colours above and/or below it, this shading will create the illusion of a waist.
- Emphasise your shoulders, this will appear to make you go in at the waist.
- Wrap cardigans and dresses will create the illusion of curves, add a plain belt around your waist for extra definition.
Bust.
Another common complaint of ladies with athletic figures is a lack of chest, whilst padded bras will remedy the problem, many do not want to go down that route.
Wear frills and patterns around the chest area, the busy detail creates the illusion of a bust.
If you have a smaller chest, you can get away with wearing thicker fabrics that would make a larger chested person look frumpy.
You can also look great in high polo or cowl necks that people with large breasts should avoid like the plague!
