Whether you want to create your own Edward vampire costume for halloween, you want to do a little cosplay for the New Moon movie release, or you just really, really like Twilight vampires, this article is everything you need. Read on to find out how to dress and do makeup like your beloved Twilight love.
Hair
Getting Edward's hair is the easiest part of the costume. Rub some hair styling mouse in your palms, run it evenly through your hair (or else you'll get greasy spots), then gently tousel it upwards. It should sprout a bit at the top and fall to one side.
TIP: Get a decent shot of Edward and look at it while modeling your hair.
Skin
Whether you want to get lighter skin is up to you. As can be seen via the New Moon trailer, they've eased back on how pale Edward is, and pattering yourself with white powder will probably look odd. If, however, you want pale skin, mix a couple ounces of scent-less skin lotion with a small amount of Halloween white makeup. Stir well so that it is thoroughly mixed, then apply to skin just as you would lotion.
TIP: if you don't see a difference, add more makeup.
Eyes
If you're a juvenile, you'll probably need your parents help to get these: colored contacts. You can get them in all types of colors, from a nice gold to a bright blue to a creepy Hello Kitty (if you're in Japan). Locate a shop online that specializes in colored contacts, set up an eye appointment if necessary, then apply like you would any other contacts.
TIP: If you experience eye irritation, take them out.
Lips
If you're like most guys, this might make you feel a bit odd, but you're going to need light red lipstick. Edward drinks blood, remember? He's got red lips, and you're going to need them, too. Just applying the lipstick won't look right, however--you'll need to mix it a bit. I reccommend mixing a bit of red lipstick with an equal amount of petroleum jelly. Rub it only on the center of the lips, then purse your lips a bit to smear it around evenly.
TIP: If you use straight lipstick, or if you put on too much, you'll look odd. The petroleum will both dilute the color and give it a nice, shiny "I just drank blood" look.
Clothes
This part is budget dependant. The best place to find the right mix of clothes to look to get the Edward Cullen look without needing the Cullen salary is thrift shops--you can find oversized, retro-looking, and cheap outfits.
Edward doesn't wear outrageous clothes--if you look, they're quite normal, but with a few trends. First, he wears dark shirts most of the time, and they're often button-up with the top two buttons open. The sleeves are often uncuffed and sometimes rolled loosely a couple times. His pants are almost always stainless, holeless blue jeans that are loose fitting but don't sag. He doesn't wear jewelry.
TIP: Edward is an entire package, not just an outfit. Get the hair down, and you'll have done have the work.
Finally....
Remember that while dressing like Edward is fun, you're not living in Twilight-land, you're an individual, and not to become obssessed.
