If you're frustrated because you still haven't lost the weight you'd hope to loose in 2007, you can still take off pounds visibly by just dressing in a way that makes you look slimmer. Here are a few suggestions to take off pounds visibly.

Select the Right Pants and Jeans

Choosing the right style of jeans will is important for making you appear slimmer. For example, don't wear jeans with pocket flaps, as this adds more pounds to the eye. Instead, select pants without pocket flaps, known as besom pockets. However, if you have some old jeans with pocket flaps, tuck them in to appear slimmer. When buying new jeans, be sure to choose those without pockets, which give you a soft silhouette. Also, be careful to choose the right size. By stuffing yourself into tight jeans, you're emphasizing your weight. On the other hand, avoid wearing bulky jeans.

Choose pants long enough to cover most of your shoe, realizing that short pants add pounds. To look slimmer, opt for pants that are balanced from hip to help, bringing out your body's natural curves, rather than altering them. For a slender look, aim for long lines, which create long legs and a slimmer you. Avoid pants with elastic or string waists, as well as pleats as they add more dimension to your waist. Note that stripes, as well as ironed creases in pants slim you, dividing your body into vertical sections.

Also, stay away from light colors and prints, remembering that the darker colors make you appear slimmer, as well as your legs longer.

How to Choose Slimming Dresses

Of course, you probably already know to avoid horizontal stripes. Instead, choose vertical lines---the closer the lines, the more slender your appearance. Also, choose solid colors over prints (especially flowery designs), remembering that dresses that are darker slim you. In addition, make sure your dress doesn't fit tightly, yet not look like a bulky maternity smock, on the other hand.

However, don't shy away from all color. Although you've always heard that a black dresses takes off ten pounds, you can also add color. Try monochromes that work well with your skin tone. The key is to apply one color in different tones, creating a monochromatic look.

Jewelry and Accessories

Don't overdo with jewelry and accessories as they can add to your weight. For example, put away those large belts as they draw the eye to your belly. Choose long necklaces over short ones as they deemphasize a double chin.

Shoes

Although flats may be more comfortable, they don't help you look slimmer. If possible, wear heels, instead. By wearing medium or high heels, your legs appear longer, making you slimmer. Also, make sure your heels have thin soles. Stay away from colored hose, selecting neutral colors and not hose that's darker than the lightest color of your shoes.

Finally, keep trying to get in shape and loose weight. Although there are ways to help you appear slimmer, you still want to reach your goal weight and feel healthy. However, helping yourself look your best along your weight loss journey will encourage you to continue on your diet.
