How to Dress for a Mismatched Outfit Party

David Farrell
A clashing outfit is an evergreen party theme, and it's a matter of time before you have to look at your wardrobe, trying on clothes in front of a mirror, with the primary objective being to have the worst outfit possible. Although this article primarily deals with guy's fashions, girls can apply most of these intentional fashion mistakes to ace the party with the worst outfit. I will provide several suggestions and leave you to pick what ones work.

Worst clashing wardrobe dress themed party outfit, footwear:

Wear a black sock on one foot and a white one on the other foot. Clash a shoe and a sneaker or work boot, wearing the shoe on the foot with the more ugly sock. You can also clash a big rubber boot with a regular piece of footwear. This works best with a boot worn over pants.

Worst clashing wardrobe dress themed party outfit, pants:

Wear a bathing suit, pair of gym shorts or cutoffs over dress pants. Or you can go a step further and pull a thermal underwear leg warmer over one of the legs of the dress pants, hiding the end under the shorts. You can also wear ratty pants under a nice pair of shorts. If you don't want to wear the shorts and the pants, select a pair of pants or shorts that clash hard with the rest of the outfit.

Worst clashing wardrobe dress themed party outfit, shirt:

Wear a long sleeved shirt under a short sleeved or sleeveless shirt. You can wear a dress shirt under a T-shirt, a polo shirt under a wife beater, or a sweatshirt under a short sleeved dress shirt. Wear a homemade sweatshirt vest over a shirt. Cut one sleeve off of a T-shirt or long sleeved shirt to add to the chaos.

Worst clashing wardrobe dress themed outfit, hat and bling:

A knit cap clashes with a summer outfit. Or wear a baseball cap at an odd angle. Make a headband from a pant leg or t-shirt sleeve of a clashing color. Wear necklaces, bracelets, and beads to add to the chaos. Be creative; but remember that trying to be the worst-dressed isn't as easy as it seems.

Neat ideas as always. I just resubscribed and hopefully will start getting notices again.

I guess I've missed out...I've never heard of a mismatched outfit party.
