How to Dye Your Hair Down There

Graying pubic hair can be a nuisance when the trees don't match the bush. Worry no more! This is an easy eleven step guide to coloring your pubic hair. It's very important to follow this guide for your safety. It's not recommended by health care professionals to color your own pubic hair. Skin irritation, burning rash and other problems can occur. The safest way to have this done is by going to a salon and asking a professional.

Here are the items that you will need:

Petroleum jelly

Latex gloves

Hair color product

Hair color applicator brush

Moisturizing shampoo

Towels, washcloths, sponge net

Cotton ballsStep 1 - Go to a drug store and buy the hair color product that is the closest shade to your pubic hair before it started to turn gray. Go for a natural look. Obviously, pink wouldn't be a suitable color. Pubes are usually a shade or two darker than the hair on your head. So go for the hair dye a shade darker than what you would use on your head.

Step 2 - Even if you're familiar with dying your own hair, please be sure to do a skin patch test to make sure you're not allergic to it. Clean a small area of skin with soap and water - about the size of a quarter - at the inside of the elbow. Follow the skin patch instructions included with the product. It should tell you the proper mixture of dye to use on your arm. Using a cotton swab, apply this solution to the designated area. Let it dry - be sure not to wash the area until the test is finished. Check it at 24 hours and again at 48 hours. If an allergic reaction or irritation occurs, do not use the product. After performing the skin patch test you can safely dye your pubic hair.

Step 3 - Use a small amount of petroleum jelly to protect the inner skin of your genitals. Be sure to coat all sensitive areas to help prevent potential skin irritation or infection if the hair dye spills. Make sure you don't get petroleum jelly on any of the gray hairs.

Step 4 - Read the directions on the box before using your hair color product.

Step 5 - Put on the latex gloves usually provided with your hair coloring product.

Step 6 - Mix hair color according to the coloring instruction guide

Step 7 - After you've mixed the hair color, add an equal amount of a moisturizing shampoo.

Step 8 - Stir them together until they are completely mixed.

Step 9 - Gently apply hair color to gray pubic hairs. Be sure to avoid applying to the hair on the labia since the dye can cause extreme irritation in this area. It's also important to avoid getting the product in or near the vaginal lining or mucous membrane. For men, do not get dye on the shaft of the penis and scrotum because the skin is extremely sensitive. If your hair color product came with a brush use the brush for application or buy one at your local beauty supply. Do not rub hair color mixture into your skin. And don't allow any of the hair color product to seep into the sensitive inner genital areas where you applied the petroleum jelly.

Step 10 - Leave the hair coloring product in for 10 to 20 minutes.

Step 11 - Wash out hair coloring product. A fast and simple way to wash the hair color product from your pubic hair is in a warm shower using a hand held shower head, if available. Once the hair color is washed out, use soap and a washcloth or net sponge to remove petroleum jelly.

Tips:

It might be best to do this when pubic hair is a little long. Then trim it after you dye it.

If you are not happy with the results, wait a least a week before trying again. And also wait an extra 5 or 10 minutes prior to washing the hair coloring product from your pubic hair.

A root touch-up kit has just the right amount of hair color and comes with an applicator brush. It's also much more easy.

I used the Betty Beauty hair dye to take care of my greys. The product was wonderful. I was able to match the hair color on my head, and experienced no irritation as a result. A few of my friends used it also and we all had the same results. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to look and feel younger "down there" :-)
