How to Earn a Living Doing Anything

Earning Money is Not Difficult If You Know How to Put Your Mind into Something

Having a college degree in today's work force is not necessarily a golden ticket to a good job anymore. Leading experts are finding more and more college graduates working outside of their chosen field. Unless you are becoming something that requires a degree such as a doctor or lawyer, you don't necessarily have to have a college degree. Throughout history, people have been earning money doing what they loved and often without any education at all.

Many business owners do not hold college degrees. On a recent season of the hit show, "The Apprentice", Donald Trump allowed two teams to go against one another. One team had the college degrees and the other team had little or no college degree at all. Shockingly, the team that did not have the college degree did not seem to do all that bad against the college degree people. Some of them were actually millionaires.

Who is to say that you cannot do what you love and earn a living at it. People in every generation has had some type of training in what they love to do. Even if you just read topics on something and educational videos, you may be able to learn enough to get you some cash for what you know.

It is a fact that employers usually look for applicants with experience. It will help you to get a better job if you have a college degree, plus a few years of working experience in your field. However, it is not always necessary to have the college degree. Sometimes it is better to just go out and do what you love.

Once you get the job doing what you love, then who really cares what kind of degree you have. After all, you will be able to impress your clients with your actual job skill. Remember that what you know is what actually makes any business their money. What business wants to have a salesman with a degree in marketing that cannot sell or a manager with a bachelor's degree in management that cannot lead. Sometimes you have got to learn the ropes through plain old "been there and done that." The best leaders are often those that have been in the actual positions themselves at any company that they are trying to lead.

You can do anything that you want to do as long as you are open to whatever God has in store for you. At times you will have to put down your own pride and just say, I am going to go out there and just do it. One book that you can read for encouragement is, "Is Life Worth It? Sex, Money and Power from a Psychics Point of View" by Stephen Piperno. Books and professional business men and women are those that you want to associate with. In this day in age, it is more important with who you know and what skills you have that will get you the job.

The most important thing that you can do for yourself now is to learn more and more each day so that you can indeed earn a living at what you know how to do best. Like the title of the book says, "Do what you love and the money will follow."

I agree with this article other than that whole God piece. I'm going to college to become a paramedic yet my true passion is writing so I hope that flourishes.

I agree with you. I can sit and learn everything about some special field. But never know how to do any of it. Hands on training is the best way.

I am for education as well (it seems you need an AA to work at Best Buy these days) but the value of being self-taught and experience has helped me more than conventional education. This is especially true when working for yourself; some people are cut out for it while others are not (or don't want to be). You can not learn the entrepreneurial sprit, the discipline, or how to stay ahead in the game in a book. It comes from within and the practice of applying yourself daily.

Very good. I agree with you.
