How to Earn Money Taking Online Surveys with Opinion Outpost Research Panel

Lori Voth
If you are looking to get paid for your opinions by taking online surveys, the Opinion Outpost Survey Research Panel is an excellent place to start. While it must be acknowledged that paid survey opportunities will not make you rich nor will they provide you with any reliable, steady income, there are definitely some honest companies out there willing to reward you for your effort and time.

Opinion Outpost happens to be one of those and when compared to over 300 sites making similar get paid for your opinion promises it is also by a long shot one of the best.

Following are some of the key attributes of the Opinion Outpost Survey Research Panel that make it a respectable site to join and a wise place to offer your time and consumer feedback in exchange for merchandise and cash rewards.

Opinion Outpost is a credible company

Opinion Outpost is a legitimate paid survey panel designed to conduct market research for various corporate clients in an effort to provide some insight into consumer behavior and purchasing decisions. Like any accredited market research company, Opinion Outpost collects data confidentially to maintain your privacy and strictly adheres to the guidelines as put forth by the Council of American Survey Research (CASRO) Code of Standards and Ethics for Survey Research and the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) Code of Professional Ethics and Privacy.

Frequent opportunities to make money

Opinion Outpost sends out as many as several paid survey invitations a day to its participating panel members. It is not guaranteed that you will qualify to earn points for every survey you attempt due to varying demographic requirements but it cannot be denied that the more you try the better the chance you have at qualifying and the more survey invites you receive the more you are able to try. The paid survey panel also allows members to maximize the number of opportunities they send with nine optional profile surveys which you can update regularly to receive even more survey invitations that are relevant to you.

Opinion Outpost offers more rewards per survey than other paid survey companies

Each survey is valued differently, usually depending on the length of time it takes to complete. The reward system is measured in points and before beginning any survey you will see how many points you will earn once the offer has been fulfilled. Points get applied to your Opinion Points Account Balance where they accrue until you are ready to exchange them for rewards. 10 Opinion Points are equivalent to $1. Almost all surveys award a minimum of 10 Opinion Points but the panel has been known to offer as many as 200. these high scoring survey opportunities allow Opinion Outpost members to build up a cash balance at a much faster rate than is available from other paid survey sites.

Opinion Outpost offers a Refer a Friend bonus

For every friend you refer to Opinion Outpost who registers for the panel and completes at least one survey your account will be credited with 10 Opinion Points ($1). Many paid survey sites do not offer a reward for spreading the word.

It is simple to cancel your membership

Many paid survey sites make it quite difficult to cancel your membership and unsubscribe from emails. Opinion Outpost makes it quick and easy if you decide that taking online surveys is not for you. Your member's homepage contains a side bar to help navigate your task options and one of the items listed very clearly on that list is the link to follow if you wish to "Opt-out".

Great redemption options for Opinion Points

Opinion Outpost panel gives you two options for how you wish to redeem your opinion points for awards. You can choose to receive a check in the mail once your balance has earned a minimum of 150 points ($15). Or alternatively you can opt to exchange your points for an Amazon.com e-certificate. If you decide on the Amazon option you can trade in as few as 10 points ($1) at a tie and your Amazon claim code will be emailed to you immediately.

Finally, what makes this company most unique: Opinion Outpost donates to charity

In those instances that you do not qualify as a match to complete a survey, Opinion Outpost like many paid survey companies does not want to leave you empty handed. However while other panels typically give a consolation prize of a sweepstakes entry with near impossible odds or a one shot chance at some kind of instant win game, Opinion Outpost goes above and beyond by giving members a choice of what thank you reward for attempting the survey they want. The best part is that if you don't want to take a wild chance at winning a prize through sweepstakes or instant win games you can use your reward to donate 10 cents to the Red Cross, something that is a sure bet. As of June 7, 2009 the website reports total donations from members to date to be $29,146.00.

I've never done this. I guess I'm too busy writing articles. Thanks for explaining how this works. :-)

Excellent article, Lori. This company really pays when the points accumulate ? How long do most of the surveys take to complete ? I tried one survey company, but they turned out to be bogus. The quote next to your CP avatar is pretty awesome, too.

I never did try this one, but I think I will. I did participated with Survey Spot Surveys and made a quick fifty dollars. The surveys were fun, but stopped coming for some reason.
