How to Ease Sunburn Pain Naturally

Jeanne Marie Kerns
Having lived in Miami, Florida almost 40 years, I have to say a sunburn is an every weekend occurrence. Getting a sunburn is not as easy as relieving the pain from one. I have found some natural ways to ease the pain, hope they benefit you as much as they have for me.

Aloe Plant

An aloe plant is by far the best natural remedy you will every apply to your skin when it comes to sunburn. Unfortunately, not many people have access to them due to climate restrictions. If you happen to have one, cut one of the stems off and peel the cactus like skin away. Rub the aloe liquid all over the burn and let alone. Relief is almost immediately. Place cut stem in a baggie and reuse until dried up.

Cold Cucumbers

Sliced, cold cucumbers placed onto the area where a sunburn is, also relieves the pain almost immediately. Place a cucumber inside of the refrigerator for an hour, slice the cucumber into length wise slices and enjoy the coolness of the vegetable on your hot skin.

Zinc Oxide

Zinc oxide, better known to most as diaper rash cream is another excellent way to relieve the pain from sunburn pain. The thicker you put it on, the better the sunburn feels. If you place it in the refrigerator for an hour or so, the coolness feels even better.

Tea Bags

Tea bags that have been soaked in ice water can truly relieve the pain, and the itching of a bad sunburn. Place the wet tea bags directly on the area which is burned the most, the tea bags will help draw the heat out. Once they have dried up, throw away and soak a new tea bag.

Vitamin E Oil

Vitamin E oil on recently sunburned skin will help eliminate the pain almost immediately. Either buy the bottle of Vitamin E oil or buy the capsules and cut them open. Either way works perfectly fine. Use very little amounts on the sunburn skin. One capsule should be more then enough for a sunburn.

If you know you are proned to burning, then make sure to use the highest sunscreen available.
