How to Easily Time Contractions

Timing Your Contractions is as Easy as 1, 2, 3

Before anything make sure you are having real contractions. Real contractions start in the back and move all the way to the front of your belly. They get stronger with each contraction, not a lot at first but you will notice the intensity changing.

Once the contractions have started get out your stop watch, a piece of paper and a pen or pencil. Whichever you prefer. Whatever you are comfortable writing with.

Now write down the exact time that they start, then write down the exact time that they stop. Make sure it is clear and can be read well. You will be giving this to your doctor once you are ready to go to the doctors.

Keep writing down the times of the contractions until they are five minutes apart or closer. Bring the paper to the hospital so your doctor can see exactly what has been going on with them.
