Damask Candy Bag Favor

What you'll need:

- Damask paper - use scrap book paper, gift wrap, download damask paper, or even wallpaper, possibly the same you've chosen to use with your invitation.
- Plain color paper - to cut strips to add detail to your little favor bags
- Paper cutter - to easily cut many bags and to ensure lines are straight
- Scrapbooking type of scissors - to cut top edge of bag
- Glue stick - to glue bag together
- Candy - to fill the bags
- Stapler and staples - optional

Directions:

I downloaded and printed damask paper. [Depending upon your own style and color choices, you should be able to find colors you've chosen. This could be online or by purchasing elsewhere.]

I chose to put two Werther's Sugar Free wrapped candies inside my damask wedding favor bag.

I measured bag to size, then figured out amount of paper I'd need to make each favor bag.

After cutting paper, I folded the bottom of each sheet and then folded paper in half so seam was in the back. Then I glued a small seam.

Using your scrapbooking scissors for a more delicate top edge, I cut along the tops of each of the damask favor bags.

To add extra flair to the bags, I cut strips of plain brown paper, about 1/4 inch wide and glued the strip onto the damask favor bag.

Note: You could staple the bags shut, or just fill and organize them in standing position in box that would comfortably hold them until time to place them at table setting.

Bags could be filled with other types of candy, plant bulbs, nuts, little note pads or whatever you'd like and are able to budget for your damask favor bags. Remember to measure and cut to proper size so whatever you choose will easily fit inside your pretty little bag.

Have fun with this. I'm sure you will receive great comments on your creativity.

You will chose colors according to your wedding colors. Your damask may be black and white or you may have a bright additional color. I chose to use a beige type damask with brown accent. I used the same for the invitation and the envelope.

Size of finished bag - 2 1/2 X 3 inches
Size of paper - unfinished bag - 5 1/4 X 3 1/4 inches [to allow for seam]

These bags are quite showy and most anyone could help you. Perhaps you'd have an assembly line with different people measuring, cutting, folding gluing etc. After deciding what you're doing, you probably could complete 25 an hour by yourself. [Please realize everyone works at different speeds etc.]
