But there are also other tricky binds you can get into with most of these. Often times you won't know it is happening until it's too late. Most of these programs display offers from other companies that you can do. When doing these offers you will usually be paid to join a certain sight. Sometimes it costs money to join these sights. Sometimes it is free. Sometimes the cost to join is more than the money that you will be paid to join. Sometime you will be paid more.
It all depends on the offer, and usually there are many to choose from.
Regardless, lets say you decide to join one these sights, and get paid for doing the offer. It is always of the utmost importance that you read the FAQ, the terms of use, and the Privacy Policy before joining any of these! Sometimes there will be a part of this contract that will obligate you to spend a certain amount of money, or buy so much of their product before you can cancel your membership.
Now most of these offers allow you to do a free trial. However, if for some reason you don't cancel before the trial expires, you could be obligated to buy something. Sometimes this could cost you 40 or 50 bucks, because you will likely be charged for the full membership fee as well.
In my own experience BMG music requires members to buy a CD at regular price before they can cancel. Columbia House requires members to buy five DVD's before they can cancel membership. Those are the only two I have personally run into. I've since found that doing these offers isn't for me. Joining all these sights is really nothing more than a bother.
Unless you're willing to read everything, and find out exactly what you're signing up for, you are probably going to loose far more money than you make. There are cool and easy ways to make money online without having a website, like writing for Associated Content. But doing paid to read emails, and taking surveys, or doing free trial offers is too much of a hassle for me to keep up with.
