How to Make Easy Paper Clay

ChristyL
1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup hot water
1/4 cup cold water
1/2 cup cornstarch

Preparation:
Mix salt and hot water in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Stir cold water into cornstarch. Add cornstarch mixture to boiling water. Stir vigorously to prevent lumps. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is like stiff pie dough. Remove from heat and turn out onto a breadboard to cool. As soon as mixture is cool enough to handle, knead until smooth and pliable. Makes about 1 1/2 cups.

How to use it:
Flatten with a rolling pin and use cookie cutters to shape. (great for Christmas decorations). Dries in 1 to 2 days; or in oven at 200 degrees F. for 1 hour. Dries white and can be painted with enamels. Unused mixture can be wrapped in foil or plastic and keeps in air tight container for a long time without refrigeration
