How to Eliminate High Fructose Corn Syrup from Your Diet

Sarah Holmes
High Fructose Corn Syrup is dangerous for many reasons. Therefore, many people are eliminating it from their diets. I recently began reducing the amount of high fructose corn syrup I eat because the corn in the high fructose corn syrup is genetically modified (unless the product is labeled "organic"). There are other good reasons to eliminate the product from our diet too.

The hardest thing about removing high fructose corn syrup is it is in everything. Some of the common items include bread, ketchup, soda pop, candy, cakes and more.

The easiest way to eliminate high fructose corn syrup from common items like bread and ketchup is to look at the labels. Many items can be purchased without high fructose corn syrup. If you can afford it and you still want soda pop, you can purchase soda pop made with real sugar. Jones Soda is one of the brands which creates an alternative. It is made with pure cane sugar not high fructose corn syrup. To eliminate high fructose corn syrup from candy and cakes, I recommend checking the labels.

It is hard to find candy without high fructose corn syrup. There is an organic candy online. You can purchase it on Amazon. It is a hard candy made from nutritious ingredients and without high fructose corn syrup. I plan on trying this sometime as I would love to give my kids candy that has not been genetically modified.

The hardest thing about eliminating high fructose corn syrup from my diet is eliminating soda pop. I really enjoy the bubbles especially when I have a sore throat. I recently discovered a way to drink fizzy "soda pop" without purchasing expensive soda like Jones Soda or give in and drink the soda pop made with genetically modified corn syrup.

Here is how you can make this useful "soda pop" imitation. First, I choose a juice. I typically purchase pure juice made with 100% juice or fruit. Be careful with your choice of juice. Many of these contain high fructose corn syrup too. Next, I purchase carbonated water. It is usually called Seltzer water. I combine a third Seltzer water with two thirds of my favorite juice. I have found this reduces my cravings for soda pop and eliminates the genetically modified corn from my diet.

Try it! I would love to hear what you think of this unique idea! Please post your comments below after you have tried it.
