Now we all have had to deal with slow computer startups, watching as the pc takes its precious time loading and loading. It usually makes you wonder why you have seen other pc's load up fast and yours takes hours. In this article I will review some ways that you can be positive your windows based pc will start up fast. Some of these steps may or may not work for you, depending on your pc, but if you do not understand or may be nervous have someone who is experienced help you. They can walk you through these steps or give you more information, someone as a computer tech or your local ISP provider.

The first step in making sure your pc starts up fast is the system tray. It is the tray that's on the lower right corner of your screen with all the icons and the clock on it. If when your pc loads and there are many icons next to the clock on the tray you can definitely delete some or change their settings, properties, or preferences. You can do this by right clicking each icon and going too its properties if applicable and deselect start up when system starts. If the icons are something that you definitely need for windows then do not do this, but if it's not then I would consider deselecting as many programs as you can.

There is also another way you can do this, but I would consider having your ISP or computer manufacture on the phone or with you when you do this. You can go to the start tab, then select run, type in msconfig, go to the services tab- select hide all Microsoft services, go to the startup tab, and then deselect any programs you do not want or need to load when your pc starts up. This will allow your pc to start up faster and cause it to run more efficient. Many programs that start automatically are not needed these include, messenger programs, games, media players, and other related programs.

The second step in making sure your pc starts up faster is cleaning out your history. This can be done in your internet options which can be found in the tools section of any web browser. This will delete temporary files, history, cookies and saved information, after these are deleted your pc will be able to load web pages faster and increase the startup overall pc performance.

The third step in making sure your pc starts up is to run system defrag. To do this all you do is open up my computer, right click on the "c" drive, go to properties, select tools, and then defragment now. This will help your pc get rid of all unwanted files and keep the good files intact; this will help your pc run smoother and faster. Also, you can do a disk cleanup which will clean up all unwanted files as well.

The last step in making sure your pc starts up faster is too store files and programs on an external drive or data discs. Saving your files on an external drive or disks will not take up so much stress on your pc's hard drive and make your pc run faster and more efficient without any lag time. They will also help your pc by clearing out space on your pc's hard drive.

There are more ways to help your windows pc start faster these are just a few ways that worked great for me and others I know. I hope these steps can help you if you have any questions or other ideas please leave your comments.
