How to Enhance Brown Eyes

I personally love brown eyes. Maybe it is because I have blue eyes and I'm sick of seeing light colored eyes, but, anyway, I have always had a very big interest in brown eyes. This interest has led me to work up my friends' brown eyes. Throughout the years of applying their makeup, I have learned many ways to enhance brown eyes. And I would love to share what I know with you, so let's get started.

Step 1: Make sure your eyes are clean from any dirt, makeup, oiliness, etc. Anything that could make your makeup look bleh, get rid of! You want to paint on a clean canvas, not try to layer cover ups over a dingy canvas.

Step 2: Apply a little concealer to your eye lid and lower eye (generally where you would receive dark circles). The concealer will cover up any discoloration and work as a makeup base. Concealer will absorb any skin oils that would cause your eye makeup to run and sweat off. So even if you do not have discoloration, still apply a little for good measure.

Step 3: You want to look for colors that will draw a lot of attention to your brown eyes while still keeping it natural and elegant (this means go light on the makeup). You can still have brighter colors, but you do not want to over do it because you will draw more attention to your makeup rather than your beautiful brown eyes. I would suggest purple, light to dark green, baby blue, dark blue, etc.; colors that will not blend with your eye color but enhance and work with your eye color. All these colors will work well as long as you keep it simple and light.

Step 4: Pick from one of the shadow colors above. The darker your eyes are, the lighter you want to go. The lighter your eyes are, the darker you want to go with your color. Apply the color you choose to your entire eyelid lightly. Trust me you do not want the color to be "WOW" because you will look very unnatural and defeat the purpose of enhancing your eyes. Raise the color up a little from your lid and up toward the brow bone, but do not touch the brow bone. As for your brow bone, you can either apply the same color but a couple shades lighter than what is on your lid, or you can apply a silvery/white color. Do not be too generous with the color.

Step 5: Finish over your look with some black mascara and eyeliner. You do not want to use brown mascara and liner on brown eyes because it will all morph and fade in with one another. You want your eye shape and lashes to be noticed separately.

And that is how you enhance those brown eyes of yours!
