How to Enjoy Almonds

Almonds Are Healthy to Eat Roasted, Blanched, Baked or in a Meal

Sondra C
Almonds are tasty and a healthy treat, and are inexpensive and high in fiber . Eat the almonds directly out of the box or bag instead of salty popcorn in the movie theaters. Use as an ingredient in baking and in place of breadcrumbs to dip chicken for a crusty top.

Where to Buy The Best Almonds

Eat almonds and buy them by the pound in a health food store or supermarket already bagged. They are healthy, contain vitamin E, fiber, proteins and the healthy fat and help to lower your cholesterol. Since almonds are relatively low in calories they can be a substitute for high caloric snacking and help in the never ending battle to lose weight.

Many Ways To Eat Almonds

Enjoy and eat almonds a variety of ways. Buy the slivered almonds and sprinkle them on top of puddings or ice cream sundae' s for a inexpensive but healthy treat. Pour them into a small baggie and take them with you in your purse. Almonds are great to raise the blood sugar for those who are hypoglycemia. Sprinkle slivered almonds on salads or eaten as a low caloric meal when added to rice.

Use Almonds For Cooking or Baking

Make a special dinner of chicken dipped in eggs and crushed almonds-in place of breadcrumbs-that tastes as good as it looks. Bake or fry almonds according to taste and enjoy eating almond cookies that they serve in a Chinese Restaurant.

Keep in Mind

  • Unbleached almonds can be bought at health food stores or in the health food section in a supermarket.
  • Consuming too many almonds, like eating too much of anything, becomes fattening.

Almonds are healthy but that does not mean you can eat the entire jar in one sitting. They contain calories and can put weight on unless they are eaten sparingly. Use them for cooking, baking or as a snack. The best are more expensive but worth it.
