1) Stay Positive. While this is easier said than done, it can really make a difference. Things seem so much worse when we stew over things and constantly think about the negative rather than the positive aspects of being pregnant. Enjoy those special moments with your spouse and think about how blessed you are to have a new life growing inside you. Take time out to really enjoy feeling the baby kick and move around. One thing I absolutely loved about being pregnant was feeling my babies move. It was the most amazing feeling, to feel a life flourishing inside my womb. It can also help to surround your self with positive people. If someone is bringing you down, take a break from that person or urge them to be more positive.
2) Rest. Don't try to be super mom or do it all during your pregnancy. Your body is working very hard to grow a baby and you need your rest. You will need more sleep while your pregnant so sleep and relax as much as possible. If you feel tired lay down.
3) Take your vitamins. I can't stress this one enough. You will feel more tired and run down if you don't take your vitamins. If you're not very sick you should be able to take them daily, but if you're experiencing morning sickness it can be a challenge to keep vitamins down. If this is the case you can try a liquid vitamin or take your vitamins when you're not feeling sick. Some women experience morning sickness just in the morning or mid day. If this is the case take your vitamins at night. You can also take B-vitamins for extra energy while your pregnant. I love Solaray chewable vitamin B-complex tablets. Be sure to also eat a well balanced diet with plenty of lean meats, fruits and vegetables.
4) Seek support. Seek support from your spouse, friends, and family. You need to be encouraged and loved. Mothers need special care, especially pregnant mothers.
5) Treat yourself. Get a massage, facial, manicure or a pedicure. Do something special for yourself.
