How to Make Your Entire House or Apartment Refreshed and New, in Less Than 30 Minutes!

How to Clean My House in Under 30 Minutes!

Liz Gamble
Have you ever been sitting at home, maybe watching TV, or playing on your play station and you get that phone call. That phone call that says your in-laws, or your 'not-so' good friend, or your boss or Pastor, was in the area and they just wanted to stop by and say Hi, or drop something off. Well, you don't want them to see you lazing around in your sweats and the house a mess, so you immediately hang-up and begin to panic. The house doesn't look as bad as the show, "The Hoarders" or anything, but it definitely could use a freshening up.

Here is a plan here that will get your house in shape in under 30 minutes, using only 3 products and will give you time to change your clothes when you're finished. I've had to do it many times. Here we go.

You got the call and you hung up. After you get out of shock, start picking everything off the floors and tables. If you don't have a drawer for everything, get a bag and you can straighten it out when they've left. Clear tables make you appear organized and neat.

Next, get a Window cleaner and clean everything that is glass, chrome, in pictures and mirrors. If these surfaces are cleaned, with no streaks or smudges, the entire place will reflect that you take care of your things. Remember to wipe down the stereo and the TV since they are main attention getters!

With an all purpose cleaner, like 409 or Fantastic, spray down the bathrooms, if only the guest bathroom or the one downstairs, that would be used. Leave the spray on to work for a minute. Then go to the kitchen area and put all food, whatever is on the counters away, either in the refrigerator, the cabinets, and put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Quickly spray and wipe the counter tops. While you are in the kitchen, sweep it and if the rest of the dining room or hall and living room are tile or hardwood, just keep sweeping the entire area. Now go back into the bathroom, taking a towel or rag, quickly wipe everything down. You're almost down.

The last part is to vacuum as much as you can, and if you happen to have the scented floor powder that is even better. (I now keep a container at all times.) If you have a few extra minutes, you can vacuum the bedrooms and upstairs (if you have one) but focus on the main rooms getting swept and refreshed. I've had to do this 'quick clean' a number of times during the holiday season and for other occasions. It doesn't matter how large or how small your place is, you can give it a complete shine like this in under 30 minutes. It's all in having a plan and this plan is Great even for tidying up in between the major cleanings.

Then you can run and change your clothes, and you're all set - like this is how clean I keep my home all the time....and we all know that life just happens! So shine on!
