Erotic Portraits
Simple nude photography is a sophisticated, avant-garde addition to any romantic bedroom. If you have children or frequent visitors, you can still use careful composition to showcase nude photos without showing anything indecent.
Any basic digital camera will work if you have access to digital photo editing software and a home photo printer. (Remember, many commercial retail photo processors will not print nude photos and it can be embarrassing even if they do. Printing at home ensures no one keeps a second collection of your prints, like in Hope Floats.) Strip the bed to basic white sheets and pillows. Remove any clutter from bedside tables and walls. Set up lamps at the corners of the foot of the bed. Use a tripod to capture the ambient light without flash.
If you are photographing yourself, or you and your partner at the same time, arrange a large mirror behind the camera. This way you can see basically what the photo will look like. You can use the self-timer function or a remote shutter (just keep it hidden in your hand so it doesn't show in the photo).
Don't overact the erotic portrait. Just be natural. Try to make your model laugh, look over her shoulder, or just stretch out on the sheets. Use the sheets to cover and reveal whatever you want to show in the photo. Include some tight face shots, close-ups of various body parts, and don't forget about the hands and feet.
When editing your photos, use creative crops to eliminate any unnecessary parts of the frame. Change the color setting to black and white or sepia for a glamorous feel.
Couples Canvas
For a more subtle, private type of erotic art, create a canvas painting with your bodies. Purchase a large canvas at a local hobby shop and lay it flat on the floor. Grab a few tubes of paint in colors you feel express you and your partner's personalities. Squirt them on each other's bodies and rub against the canvas
Continue until you are pleased with your abstract creation. Allow the canvas to dry and hang it as a focal point in your bedroom. Now, whenever you look at your bedroom's erotic art, you will remember the sexy way you created in and stay in the mood.
Body Painting
Combine the best of paint and photography with erotic body painting. Choose finger paints in a palette to complement your bedroom décor. Create lighter shades of primary colors by mixing with white. Lay down plastic on the floor. Have paper plates with generous amounts of the different shades of paint. Lay out several pairs of loose plastic gloves (like the kind cafeteria workers use). Next, prepare your digital camera and have it ready.
Now comes the fun part. Strip. Take turns painting each other's bodies. Really experience the act of painting each other. Don't over think designs or patterns. Just feel. Occasionally, grab the plastic gloves to protect your camera and shoot your erotic portraits covered in body paints. Set the camera on timer to capture shots of you painting each other. With careful composition, you can create beautiful, erotic photos that are tasteful and artsy. Look for tight shots of body parts, like the belly button, small of the back, and neck, decorated with body paint.
When editing the photos on your computer, consider a variety of color modes. Instead of just printing them in full color, add to the mystery with spot color. Highlight the areas of body paint, reverse select, and pull the saturation of the remaining photo down to grayscale. Now the only color in your erotic portraits will be the colors of the paints.
Hang your erotic art in horizontal or vertical arrangements of odd numbers, like three or five. You can also create window pane arrangements of multiples of four.
