How to Use Eucalyptus Essential Oil as a Respiratory Decongestant

Nothing is worse than having a stuffy nose and not being able to breathe. There are medicines that can help with this, but going all natural by breathing in Eucalyptus essential oil can be a great alternative to most of those over the counter methods. This article will list a few ways to use this essential oil relieve your cold symptoms.

It is a well known fact that using Eucalyptus Oil can be used as a very effective respiratory decongestant. It has a very fresh smell very similar to vapor rub. It's fresh scent works wonders when being all blocked up with a cold or flu. There are several ways to use this oil to help relieve your symptoms such as:

Use it as a chest rub:

* 25 to 30 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil

* 5 to 10 drops of Camphor Essential Oil

* 3 drops of Wintergreen Essential Oil

* 2 oz Olive or Jojoba Oil

* 1 tsp. petreoleum jelly

Mix well, rub into chest and breath in it's fresh vapors.

Pour a couple drops of the essential oil on a tissue and bring it around with you. When you need a bit of relief, take out your tissue and inhale for instant relief.

Add a few drops of the essential oil to your pillow at night so you can breathe in the fresh vapors all night long for lasting relief and a good night's sleep.

Add a few drops in your favorite oil diffuser to spread it's soothing aroma around the room. You can also add a few drops to your humidifier for the same effect.

You can use Eucalyptus Essential Oil many ways to help alleviate respiratory problems. These are just some common ways. Never use this essential oil internally and never use it to replace your doctor's medical treatment/advice. This is a wonderful refreshing oil to help soothe the common cold and makes a great addition to the bathroom cabinet.
