How to Exfoliate Acne-Prone Sensitive Skin

E.Tirratino
If you have sensitive skin then you already know that just about every scrub on the market irritates it. The problem with acne-prone sensitive skin is that in order to minimize old scars the skin needs to be exfoliated.

I've found that it's best to skip using the scrubs all together. Instead I opt for a natural fiber washcloth. You can get them at Walmart or any store that sells cosmetics and things like that. Unlike a rag it's not made of cotton, but of a little more abrasive fiber.

The trick is to not rub too aggressively or you will end up with rough and red skin. I also recommend that you don't do this every day in the beginning, but slowly incorporate it into your routine and see if it is beneficial to your skin.

After you wash your face, dry it with a clean towel but do not apply moisturizer. You want the skin to be dry, this way the dead skin cells can more easily flake off. Next, very gently in circular motions use the washcloth to exfoliate the areas where you have dryness and flaking skin.

This technique also helps with blackheads as well as whiteheads just below the surface. Afterwards, your skin will feel very smooth. Splash with a little water, dry, and then add your moisturizer.
