Growing a business can be costly, timely and stressful, but there is a way you can expand and grow your business using your knowledge, your existing business and your knowledge of your marketplace - this is through diversification. By diversification I mean standing out from the crowd and your competitors, adding new products, new ranges or even new lines. Diversifying what services and products you currently offer to help you grow and make more money within your business

You could grow by diversifying your business, your target market or even your product lines and ranges. Diversification definitely is the way to go if you want to expand. Don't be fooled though it will not happen overnight, as it takes planning, preparation and market research. So be prepared to put in the work and you will see the results.

So what should I diversify?
Perhaps you are unsure about what you could diversify, or perhaps you have more than one thing you wish to diversify, whatever you are thinking here are a few questions you should ask yourself to find out - What should I diversify?
1. What products or services am I currently offering?
2. What are my competitors and competition offering?
3. What are my competitors not offering - where is there a gap in the market, what niches exist?
4. What does the market/marketplace need, what is it lacking, and what can I provide them with to fill this gap or need.
5. How big do I want my business to be and where do I see my business going both in the short term and long term.

Top tips for successfully growing your business through diversification
