As an extra, you'll also get to see your favorite Disney Channel stars, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, up close and personal. The downside is that as an extra, you won't be allowed to talk to them (unless they speak to you first). And you'll even be paid for your work! Of course, you shouldn't expect to get rich from your earnings as an extra, but the experience alone will be worth it.
Does working as an extra on a Disney Channel show sound like something that would interest you? Then read on to learn all you need to know about how to get started!
For children ages 2 weeks to 17 years old
All children under 18 years of age who want to work as a Disney Channel extra will need to register with Kids! Management in Burbank, California. You'll need to schedule an appointment with Kids! Management first. You can do this by calling (661) 244-4621.
Once you have an appointment scheduled, you'll need to prepare all the required documents. These include the registration form, I-9 and work permit form. All these forms can be downloaded from the Kids! Management website at http://kidsmanagement.com.
In addition to the forms you will need to bring a photo (4x6 or larger), 2 forms of ID and the $30 registration fee. You can expect to be at the Kids! Management office for about an hour for your registration appointment.
For ages 18 or older
If you are 18 years old or older and want to work as a Disney Channel extra, you will need to register with Central Casting in Burbank, California. You must realistically be able to play a younger character though, as Disney Channel shows center around pre-teens and teenagers.
You'll need to call Central Casting to get all the details about how to register with them, but here's a quick rundown of what you'll here. Bring proper ID and be sure to know your sizes. For women this means bust, waist, hips, dress, pants and shoe size. For men this includes coat, neck, sleeve, waist, inseam and shoe size.
Registration only happens three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. There is also a $25 registration fee.
For the full details, call Central Casting at (818) 562-2755 and press 2 to hear the recording.
