How to Use Facebook

These days I hear a lot about Facebook from my kids and friends and it made me curious to know what it is all about. Right from creating your profile and making your birthday announcements to the entire world, it is fun to be a part of facebook. Here are some tips to get started with facebook. You can fill up your profile page by clicking on the left side of the top bar and adjust your privacy setting depending upon your requirement.

If you are using facebook for networking, you may want the entire world to see your information. You can choose the options by clicking on the settings tab and change the privacy settings accordingly. Through the profile picture box you can upload your profile picture. Under your profile picture, you can see box which says 'information' through which you will be able to edit your information. You can add 4 categories of information to your profile, basic information, personal information, Education and work. You can edit them any time according to your specifications. While you enter your file, the first screen that appears is "Wall" through which your friends can write their comments. You can create a photo album by clicking the photos tab, choose a name for your album and adjust your privacy setting so that only your friends will be able to see your photos. By following the instructions given, you can easily load your pictures. For the first time, you may have to install the facebook's photo uploader program.

You can also edit information about your album after uploading your photos. You can also write a caption or tag people in the photo by writing their names on their faces in the picture. Facebook notifies the people that they have been tagged in your album so that it will show on their profile. You can add your friends list by doing a search to find your friends. After you find your friend, you can click "Add as friend" and facebook will notify about your request to your friend and they have to confirm your request before you can see their facebook profile. Similarly, you should also confirm your friend's requests. This can be done by seeing the "outstanding requests" on the top right corner or you will also be notified via email. Facebook has also got many features which you will discover over time. So enjoy being a part of facebook.
