How to Make a Facebook Fan Page

If you have a product or you ARE a product that uses internet marketing, Facebook can be an affordable option for selling your product or service. Fan pages have also risen in popularity. They are basically a page that is a collective of users who share a common interest. Fan pages can be based on a popular movie, celebrity, sports team or interest and can help you connect with potential customers. Making your own Facebook fan page isn't difficult as long as you have a general understanding of Facebook. Here is a step-by-step method for creating your first fan page.

Create a Facebook Account
The first step in creating a Facebook fan page is creating a Facebook account. It's easy and in just a few steps, you can create your personal page. Go to www.facebook.com and follow the steps to create your persona

Click on the Advertising Link
Once you have logged in under your personal Facebook account, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the small "Advertising" link on the bottom right side of the page. Click through to the advertising page and click the "Pages" option from the bar at the top of the page. You will see a small flag to the left of the "Pages" link, click where it says "Create A Page".

Designate the appropriate category for your fan page. If additional categories are available when you click a main category, choose an appropriate subcategory. Next, enter the name of your page, which is also the object of your "fandom". Click confirm to accept yourself as admin and click "Create Page".

This is the fun part. Choose a variety of photos and logos, if applicable, to upload and represent your page. In the "Information" area, write an upbeat explanation of the purpose of your fan page. Add links to your external site if you have one, or to the main site of the company, sports team or movie topic of your fan site.

Publish!
Your Facebook fan page won't go live until you click the "Publish this Page" link.Once its published, visit the "Edit Page" link to adjust your settings. Become a fan of your fan site!

Keep it Interesting 

Once you have created your Facebook fan page, you will want to invite people and keep them coming. If your fan page is attractive and engaging, with periodic polls, questions, and posts, fans will recommend it to other people. Offer incentives to current fans, like a free sample of your product, for the fan who brings in the most new fans.
