The facial toner recipe calls for inexpensive and natural ingredients that are easy to find. The facial toner recipe is also easy to prepare.
You will need the following implements and containers to make this facial toner recipe: 2 medium size mixing bowls; small mixer or blender or food processor; small saucepan; small piece of cheesecloth; small strainer; funnel; small bottle with a screw on cap; measuring cup; teaspoon; tablespoon and wooden spoon for stirring.
You will also need these ingredients to prepare this facial toner recipe: 4 large ripe Cucumbers; 1 teaspoon runny honey; 2 small lemons and 1 small green tea bag.
Begin preparing the facial toner recipe by peeling the large cucumbers and cutting them into small chunks. Place the chunks of cucumber in the blender, mixer or food processor and process them until they have the consistency of creamy paste; this will take about two minutes.
After processing the cucumbers they will almost be ready for use in the facial toner recipe. Place the small strainer in the mixing bowl (or balance it over the mixing bowl) and line the strainer with the cheesecloth. Pour the cucumber puree into the strainer and allow it to set for 10 to 15 minutes in order for the cucumber juice to strain into the mixing bowl. Periodically press on the cucumber puree with the wooden spoon to speed up this process.
Cucumber is naturally astringent and an excellent source of Vitamin C. Its presence in the facial toner recipe will help tighten and tone skin, remove dead skin cells, combat acne and give your skin a healthy glow.
While the cucumber is straining begin preparing the lemons for use. Cut the lemons into squeezable slices, the kind often used with drinks. Next, squeeze each slice firmly until all of its juice goes into the second mixing bowl. Make sure to remove any seeds that fall into the bowl.
Lemons are a great source of Vitamin C and are naturally germicidal. Lemon's presence in the facial toner blend will help clear up acne and leave your skin looking healthy and refreshed.
After preparing the lemons, brew a cup of green tea using standard tea brewing times. Once the tea is ready, mix 3 tablespoons of it with the lemon juice to make the base for the facial toner blend. Stir the facial toner blend until it is uniform. Green tea has naturally high caffeine content, used in the facial toner blend it will tone and tighten skin and help improve the appearance of wrinkles.
Next, prepare the honey for use in the facial toner by holding the bottle of honey under warm water until the honey is runny. Then add one teaspoon of the honey to the facial toner blend. Then stir the facial toner blend until it is uniform. Honey is naturally anti-bacterial and moisturizing. Honey's presence in the facial toner blend will draw moisture to your skin while combating acne.
After you have completed these steps the cucumber juice should be ready to use in the facial toner blend. Press on the cucumber puree with the wooden spoon a few more times to make certain all of the juice has been strained into the mixing bowl.
Add the cucumber juice to the facial toner blend. Now that you have added all of the ingredients stir the facial toner blend for about a minute to make sure everything is well blended.
Once you have prepared the facial toner blend funnel the facial toner into the bottle and screw the cap on tightly. Store the completed facial toner in the refrigerator for up to four days. Use the facial toner right out of the refrigerator, after shaking it well, to cool and refresh your skin while giving it added cleansing. Use the facial toner in the morning and in the evening after cleaning your face with your favorite cleanser.
Please note this facial toner has a high vitamin C content which will make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so make sure to wear adequate sunscreen.
