How to Fake Your Death on the Young and the Restless

It seems through the years, that several of " The Young and the Restless " characters have died, and through some will of a miracle-(usually the writer)-that character comes back. Although, there are times that we ourselves know that a certain character is alive, but everyone else on the show thinks that they have passed away and have gone. When you are a character on " The Young and the Restless ", it seems like you might just get a second chance to live-if you are lucky.

One story-line that has played is the death of Cane Ashby. We all saw as Lilly held him in her arms, and he passed away. Lilly even visited Cane's body at the morgue. He seemed to lie there, lifeless and still. The writers of " The Young and the Restless " still continue to keep us guessing as the story-line has unfolded. It seemed like it was months ago that we all grieved with Lilly at the death of Cane. He was a handsome broad, and we just couldn't take our eyes off of him. While he did have a problem at hiding the truth (to protect his family), we still just kept on loving him. The minute we thought that we had saw the last of him, we as fans complained to the high heavens. At first, his spirit seemed to haunt Lilly and stay around. She saw glimpses of him through windows and heard his voice. Then at the cemetery, she met him and touched his body-and it was real... Perhaps somehow Cane received a second chance and has now joined the reign of characters of others-who died and have come back...

Another recent story-line revolves around Sharon Newman. Of course, we all know she is well (physically) and alive. Everyone else who was close to her is grieving, held a memorial and yet the family still fights with Adam Newman, as he is still labeled as a sick fool who carried Sharon to her death. While Sharon was possibly contemplating suicide, she ended up getting robbed by a stranger out on the road, who then wrecked her car and died in the accident. Since the body was badly burnt, Adam assumed it was Sharon, since the thief was wearing Sharon's wedding ring. As fans of Young and the Restless, we all know Sharon is hiding out on a farm with a veterinarian. She feels that everyone else may be better off without her and for now, she is them believe that she has died.

Long ago, Victor too, made a come-back. Although, those who viewed the show, knew he was well and alive with Hope (one of his past wives, mother of Adam Newman). Most of his family had thought he had died and was trying to move on. Once Victor made his return back to Genoa City, many fainted and had believed they had truly seen a ghost. Of course, Victor Newman is the almighty-nothing gets past Victor Newman-and apparently, not death either.

When Catherine Chancelor fell and hit her head, she lost all of her memory. Before hitting her head, she was involved in a car accident with her twin look-alike. While her twin was the one who had passed away, everyone had thought it was Catherine who had died. Catherine had wondered off, lost her memory which is how she met and fell in love with Murphy. Once her memory started to return, she learned who she really was, and made her return. Again, the residents of Genoa City had thought they had seen a ghost, and just couldn't believe that Catherine really wasn't dead. Her family and friends had all thought they had buried her body. Of course-that was just a look-alike... Why of course, Catherine is still here..why would she leave those that she loves?

And of course, if you really want everyone to believe you are dead, join the witness protection program just as Chance did. He was involved with the police and detectives in the huge drug ring that had made its way into Genoa City. During a shootout, Chance made it look as if he had been shot down dead. Of course, he was wearing a bullet proof vest.. And for a day or two, we as fans thought Chance was gone too. Once Paul told his mother, Nina the truth, she could live knowing that her son was still alive, even though she could not see nor contact him. But joining the witness protection program and being seen as you are shot down dead-is a great way to make everyone believe that you are dead.

So, if you are a beloved character on " The Young and the Restles s", and the writer works the story-lines just right-you might never really be dead. By working the system and using some careful planning-you can trick the characters and even the beloved fans of " The Young and the Restless ." .
