Before we are born, we can't say I do or don't want these people to be my mom and dad
We may be born to parents who have a mansion with ten bedrooms.
We may be born to parents who have an apartment with two bedrooms.
We may be born to parents who have the nicest cars.
We may be born to parents who have the ugliest cars.
We may be born to parents who have high paying jobs.
We may be born to parents who are making enough just to get by.
We may be born to parents who get along just fine.
We may be born to parents who fight all the time.
We may be born to parents who see us every day.
We may be born to parents who see us every other week.
We may be born to parents that cook homemade meals every night.
We may be born to parents that cook homemade meals once a month.
We may be born to parents who buy us a car for our graduation.
We may be born to parents who give us fifty dollars for our graduation.
We may be born to parents who buy us twenty Christmas presents.
We may be born to parents who buy us just two presents.
We may be born to parents who are married for their entire lives.
We may be born to parents who divorce when we are just five.
It doesn't really matter if your parents' have Rolexes, fifty thousand dollar cars, or a ten bedroom house. It doesn't matter if they live in a two bedroom apartment, drive a fifteen year old car, or wear the least stylish clothes. There is no such thing as the perfect life or the perfect people. The quality of our family and the love for our family is not dependent upon how much they have. Our love for our families comes from the love that our families give us. It is the roof they put over your head and the food they give you while you are growing up. It is the encouragement and support they give you when you are down. It is taking care of you when you are sick.
