As hard as we try, our lifestyles are not always healthy. The average adult consumes four pounds of pesticides every year. We are constantly exposed to unhealthy preservatives in our food and pollutants in our air, which clog up our skin and our bodies with toxic substances. Sweating them all out in a sauna is rejuvenating and purifying, allowing our bodies to release all those unnatural chemicals.
Far infrared saunas provide us with the best way of doing that. A traditional steam sauna relies on hot air, but infrared saunas directly heat users with infrared rays instead of hot air. Infrared heat is absorbed deeper into the skin, works up a sweat at temperatures that are lower and more comfortable, and allows for the circulation of air even when the sauna is in operation. Add ozone to a far infrared sauna, and you get even more healthy benefits.
Ozone is pure oxygen. Ozone is an integral component of the atmosphere that protects us from harmful UV rays. Many physicians and therapists believe in the healing properties of ozonated air, prescribing ozone therapy for many illnesses and conditions from arthritis to cancer. Directly breathing in high levels of ozone is unhealthy, but when used in appropriate levels in a sauna ozone is safe.
When we start to sweat inside the sauna, our pores automatically open up. Ozonated air is absorbed into our dilated pores, and cells below skin's surface get an oxygen rich burst of ozone. This speeds up metabolic bodily processes and helps to boost the circulatory and lymphatic systems, which carry toxins out of the body. Ozone is also a purifying agent that kills bacteria and viruses on the skin, leaving it clear and vibrant. The healthy glow of your skin is a manifestation of how healthy it is on a molecular level.
When looking for an infrared ozone sauna, it's important to know that not every ozonated sauna is an infrared sauna. Ozonated saunas may be either infrared saunas or conventional steam saunas. As discussed above, far infrared saunas and steam saunas work very differently and there is a big difference in the results that they achieve, so be aware of the difference when you are evaluating potential sauna purchases.
What does a typical ozonated sauna look like? An ozone environment needs to be small and enclosed, since you do not want to be leaking ozone all over your house each time you turn it on. The saunas are cabinets that admit one person. The cabinet has a hole at the top for the head, which allows the user to sit inside while breathing the fresh air on the outside of the sauna. Most models have the capability to turn the ozone function on or off, so that you can enjoy your infrared sauna with or without the added cleansing power of ozone. It is up to you.
Far infrared ozonated sauna combines infrared radiation with the power of ozone to bring users the ultimate therapeutic sauna. When used correctly, these saunas safely cleanse our pores, eliminate bodily toxins, relax muscle tissues and joints, and promote good circulation. The only word of caution for buyers is to read the full description of a sauna before purchasing, to make sure that what they are getting uses both ozone and infrared rays rather than just hot steam.
