How Far Do People Go for Their Parties?

This election is never ceasing to amaze me. Yet today, where my spouse works, an elderly man came into the store to repurchase an Halloween display which was removed by someone, who in return replaced it with a McCain Palin sign. Although I admit I find it much scarier then the witch, this kind of behavior should not happen. We, as Americans have the wonderful privilege to speak and voice our opinions. Yet this mans property was trespassed, and removed his Halloween spirit, for a political sign. Well, can you guess what just happened? This elderly man is now , going to vote Obama. He had intentions of voting for McCain and to keep it to himself, but this changed his mind.

The media is every day showing more and more school yard boy bickering. Someone is always complaining about the other, and it is not going to sway anyones vote, who feels they already made their mind up over whose best for them. We have the right to vote for who we feel we want, be it Republican, Democrat, or Independent. McCain is complaining about the amount of money Obama made in September, is it that more pledge to him? I don't know? Or more are liking him? I don't know. All I do know is that, who ever gets elected in office in November, there will be allot of disappointed people on either side. I know myself, have read many articles on robo calling, and have been subjected to it myself, I do not like it.

What should be the focus is not race, not party, but who is qualified, their plan, their issues, and the drive to put it in motion. Also, take note in the Vice Presidential Candidate, and what they have to bring, as their qualifications and experience. I can only hope this election proves our votes count, and matters. Not repeating another 2004 election. And that the glitch with the voting machines are no more. Yes, the person elected is going to inherit one big mess, so the next question would be, can they clear this clutter up? Who ever is elected, is going to have a long hard dig out of this mess. All we can do as the American people is vote, make ourselves heard, without violating anyone, or their property, and wish for the best. Do I think there will be a Cinderella ending to all this. No, but then I am just a frustrated writer, house wife who enjoys blogging and writing, in the mean time I will pray for the best.

I agree, as the title says, individuals. I do hope we all unite and not get divided more. Ty for reading and your comment. Hagd

These are individual people who are committing these acts, not either of the candidates nor their campaigns. The acts are over the line and criminal and should not be tolerated. Recent polls actually indicate a fair majority of Americans will actually be united in their presidential votes for the first time in 8 years (each of the last two races was won with less than 50% of the popular vote going to the winner) - with one candidate likely to get 55-59% of the popular vote. Maybe that kind of a mandate, along with a very persuasive concession by the defeated candidate and a very positive message by our new president elect - will help diffuse some of this ridiculous and hateful undercurrent among the populace.
