to be tied down in a cage
your voice muffled
your wings clipped
your feet made motionless
you can cry hoarse
you just cannot move
you just cannot fly
you just cannot meet anyone
you just cannot
behold beyond a limit
events unfolding in front of you
days in and days out
eyes glistening with hope
for a better tomorrow
you accept with disdain
whatever is offered to you
life appears to be
just dragging
hoping one day
the cage would
be opened
and you would
be able to fly
In the open sky
like a free bird
When I get up early in the morning my sight travels to my neighbour's balcony. There I find a bright green parrot with a red beak in a cage. He makes shrill cries as he is asking- "when will I come out of this cage?" I have tried to narrate his feelings in the cage.
