If you are receiving a great deal of unsolicited email and want to know how to fight spam, here is what you should do. Unsolicited email is known as spam and there are a few things that can help protect you from being bombarded with email that you do not want. Spam is very annoying because it comes from people that you have no idea about. They send you the email in the hopes of selling you something or to get your personal information. Most people who send spam do so at a rate of millions or more per day. It is a very wasteful practice and disruptive. It is also very abusive because people do not want an inbox full of emails that they did not request. Above all of this it is very confusing to sort the good emails from the bad emails and can clog your inbox. You need to know what emails are coming from the true senders and which is just junk.

The best way to fight spam that I know if is to create an email address with a reputable provider. It is always best to choose a popular provider with the best spam filters you can get. By doing so you will limit the amount of unsolicited email you get. Always make sure that you only allow people to send you email that are on your safe list. This is the best way of limiting spam. If you create a list of senders or contacts that you know of personally and only allow those emails through, you will not get any spam and any spam that you do get will go directly to your junk folder.

You can purchase many different spam fighting programs and software, but there really is no point when you use this practice. If you like searching through your spam every once in a while, then feel free to do so. If you do find that you are still getting emails that you have not subscribed to, to your inbox, you should probably try a spam filter or you should just get a different email provider. Any reputable email provider will never allow any emails to leak through to your inbox unless they are on your safe list.

If you get any messages through to your inbox or even to your junk, there are things that you can do to fight spam like reporting it to the FTC or the abuse department which should be located in the source header. Any email can be traced by the information in the source header, so use that information when tracking or reporting an email. These are the best methods on how to fight spam.
