How to Fight Writers Block

Holly Sendy
We've all been there....sitting at our computers, staring at that blank page wondering what on earth we're going to write about. You may google the internet for ideas or try and search deep within you for that topic of interest that you want to share with the world. Hours past, yet there are no words written, only the thoughts of "what to write about" circle your mind and you ponder over possible opportunities.

Don't get discouraged if and when you find yourself in this situation. Because writers block is a temporary loss of the ability to write and the lack of creativity you'd want to keep these things in mind and you'll have clear sailing through writers block.

You'll want to read anything you can get your hands on. Sometimes, reading helps you gain a new perspective on things that may result in inspiration.

Contrary to popular beliefs, watching TV can be beneficial if you're a sufferer of writers block. Often from shows like biographies one can gain valuable life lessons from life stories and even reality shows serve a purpose of what not to do. There's a chance you may come across something that inspires you.

Sometimes we may need to sit down and write even if it's just a bunch of babble. Babble may steer you into a new direction and help you overcome your writers block. What's great about doing this is that it challenges your mind to turn creativity on when it doesn't want to.

To get your creative juices flowing sometimes you may need a change of scenery. Go take a walk and get some fresh air and clear your mind. You'll be surprised how well you'll be able to concentrate and write.

Listening to music may also inspire you to write and what you write about. Lyrics have strong meanings behind them and listening to a few songs may give you ideas of what to write about.

It may also help to have a comfy professional space where you write. So you may want to consider having a comfortable and organized workstation at home where you can stay focused with your writings.

These are some basic tips that I use in my life and I hope they help you to. If you have any tips for those suffering from writers block feel free to share them!
