When your baby is fussing, the first thing you want to do is check to see if he or she is wet and in need of a diaper change. Sometimes it can be as simple as changing a wet diaper to calm down your fussy baby.
If your baby is screaming, make sure that they are not hurt in some way. Usually if the crying seems louder than usually and more intense, there is something that is bothering your baby or they are in pain in some way.
Holding your baby and rocking them gently can be a very effective colic baby remedy. Nothing makes a baby feel more comfortable and safe than being in their parents arms. Do not feel like you are spoiling your baby by holding them often. There is absolutely nothing wrong with showing your baby lots of love.
Another thing that might be bothering your fussy baby is gas. Gently use your fingers and push on their belly feeling to see if their belly feels hard. If so, this is usually an indication of gas. You can do a number of things to relieve gas. You can try lying your baby down on his or her back and bicycling their legs which actually moves the gas bubbles loosening them up. You can also hold your baby and gently rub their back upwards helping your baby burp. It can take several burps for a baby's tummy to settle, so be sure to get all the gas out.
Another colic baby remedy that is often quite successful is by creating soft humming noises. You can do this by turning on your washing machine or dishwasher. You can turn on your vacuum or a fan. Just the sound of a constant noise such as these can calm a baby with colic.
If the methods above do not work, you can always try taking your baby for a car ride. Usually the movement of the car will settle them down and may even put them to sleep. Take a drive around the block a couple of times until you see that your baby is settling down.
You can try any one colic baby remedy listed above or try a few of them to calm your fussy baby. It takes a lot of patience, consistency and love to sooth a baby with colic. Just realize that this will not last forever and that your baby just needs a little bit more of your attention. There is nothing wrong with showing your baby lots of love and affection. Maybe this will be all that he or she needs.

Nice job. After three 'colicky' babies, I don't really believe in 'colic' anymore, but that's another article. :)
