How to Find Back to School Bargains

Back to school time falls in the middle of two seasons. So, going out and purchasing a whole new wardrobe for your child at that time simply doesn't make sense. However, it is always wise to get your kids a few new things to start the year with. Often shopping for clothes during the back to school season can be pricey. There are bargains to be found though is you know where to look.

Outlet shopping is wise at anytime of the year. Children grow out of their clothes quickly, so there is little sense to spending a fortune on their clothing. Outlets give you the opportunity to dress your children in brand name clothing for less. Shoes are a great outlet store purchase, often shoe stores at the outlets significantly discount their stock.

Check the clearance at your favorite local department stores. Often clearance racks have items from the current or upcoming seasons. Department stores change their displays and stock often and they use clearance as a means of clearing out their stockroom. Some stores that do this frequently are Target, Old Navy, Bausch's and Kohl's. Last year in December I stumbled upon a winter coat for my daughter for twelve dollars on clearance at Boscov's. The key to clearance shopping is perseverance, you have to look often and closely.

The internet is another great resource for back to school clothing bargains. Ebay is great because you can often find designer brands for the prices you would pay at Walmart. When searching Ebay make sure you use the search terms new with tags, nwt, new without tags or nwot. This will narrow your search results down to new items only, because you are not able to personally examine them up front it is important to steer clear of used clothing on Ebay. Additionally, check the sellers feedback for any negative responses prior to placing your bid. There are many other sites online that are great for getting a deal. Check your favorite department stores site for online only sales and online clearance. Browse the internet and do a little searching and you will be surprised with how many discount sites you will find.

Remember, you don't need to buy a whole new wardrobe to start the school year. Get a few nice things and a new pair of shoes to start your child off. Build up their winter and fall wardrobe little by little as you find bargains in the weeks following.
