How to Find Bargains on Digital Cameras for Christmas

ED Watts
If you're considering buying a digital camera for someone this Christmas, use one of the following tips to find a good deal.

Shop Amazon

Many of the digital cameras listed on Amazon are marked 10% or lower below retail price. Last year, Amazon had a 12 Days of Christmas promotion where each day, they offered one hot item for an extremely low price. There is discussion of Amazon doing this again. To participate, you have to have an Amazon account.

Whether or not Amazon has 12 Days of Christmas again, check them out for good deals on electronics. Amazon also offers Super Saver shipping - free shipping for orders over $25.

Black Friday Shopping

As always, there are great deals to be had on Black Friday. It isn't the most ideal time to go shopping, but if you really want to save some money, it's an excellent way to go. Wal-Mart and Target usually have very good deals on electronics, as does Best Buy. You'll have to go in the wee hours of the morning, but if you're able to find what you're looking for at a dirt-cheap price, it's worth it.

Buy Used/Refurbished

You can also find great deals on used or refurbished digital cameras. Make sure the camera has a warranty or 30 day guarantee, though. You can buy used and refurbished cameras on eBay and other online stores. Also check out local pawn shops or the classifieds.

Coupons

Check out local ads and look around online for coupons. Cheap Stingy Bargains has links to a ton of coupons you can use for digital cameras. If you're a Rewards member at Best Buy, you can get coupons in the mail. Target also sends out coupons occasionally.

Price Watch

Check Price Watch daily for the best deals on the internet. You can find good bargains on digital cameras and much more. Price Watch also has links to coupons that can be used online. You can also insert how much money you're willing to spend on an item and get results that fit your budget.

Open Box Items

To get a good deal on digital cameras and other electronics, consider buying open box items. Most open box items are former display items, but some are returns. Best Buy usually has great deals on open box items. I bought my digital camera and TV open box from Best Buy for 25% off the retail price. Newegg also has specials on open box items. Sometimes you'll have to deal with a scratch or two on open box items, but if it isn't too noticeable, it may be worth it to you.
